Dragon Ball Z (1989–1996)
Saiyan/Namek arcs
- Goku is revived so he can return from the afterlife to fight the Saiyans. (DBZ, ep. 21 “Counting Down”).
- On Namek, the first Porunga summoning yields two wishes: revive Piccolo and bring Piccolo to Namek; the third wish expires when the Grand Elder dies. (DBZ, ep. 76 “Piccolo’s Return”).
- As the battle with Frieza escalates, Earth’s Dragon Balls revive everyone on Namek killed by Frieza and his men, re-enabling Porunga. (DBZ, Namek/Frieza arc; depicted around ep. 100–101).
- During the re-activation, Porunga’s “last wish” teleports everyone on Namek except Goku and Frieza to Earth. (DBZ, ep. 101 “The Last Wish”).
- Later, using Porunga from Earth: Krillin’s soul is moved to Earth and he’s revived; Yamcha and Tien are revived (and Chiaotzu as well in the follow-up cycle). (DBZ, ep. 107 “Goku’s Alive!!”).
Android/Cell arcs
- After Cell’s defeat, everyone killed by Cell is revived with Earth’s Shenron. (DBZ, ep. 192 “Goku’s Decision”).
- Krillin wishes to remove the bombs from Androids 17 and 18 (second wish under Dende’s upgraded Dragon Balls). (DBZ, ep. 193 “One More Wish”).
Buu arc
- In the midst of the crisis, everyone killed at the World Martial Arts Tournament by Majin Vegeta is revived (Bulma’s wish). (DBZ, ep. 240 “Revival”).
- Near the finale, Porunga restores Earth, revives everyone killed since the morning of the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai (except the evil), and fully restores Goku’s energy so he can finish Kid Buu. (DBZ, ep. 283 “Earth Reborn”).
- Months later, Shenron erases the world’s memory of Majin Buu at Goku’s request, allowing “Good Buu” to live in peace. (DBZ, ep. 287–288 bridge; on-screen in ep. 287 “Celebrations with Majin Buu”).
Dragon Ball GT (1996–1997)
- Pilaf accidentally wishes Goku back into a child using the Black Star Dragon Balls. (DBGT, ep. 1 “A Devastating Wish”).
- Baby (as Baby-Vegeta) uses the Black Star Dragon Balls to restore the Tuffle homeworld (Planet Plant) and migrates Earth’s population there. (GT, Baby Saga; mid-arc).
- After Earth explodes from the Black Star Balls’ side effect, Moori summons Porunga to reconstruct Earth so everyone can return. (GT, after “Piccolo’s Decision,” ep. 41–42 range).
Dragon Ball Super (2015–2018)
Battle of Gods / Resurrection ‘F’
- Shenron is summoned to ask about a Super Saiyan God (he can’t create one but explains the ritual). (DBS, ep. 9).
- Sorbet revives Frieza with Shenron; Shu wishes for one million zeni, and Mai wishes for ice cream (Super’s TV telling). (DBS, ep. 19).
- After the Golden Frieza battle, Piccolo is revived via Porunga. (DBS, ep. 27).
Universe 6 Tournament
- Beerus uses the Super Dragon Balls to restore Universe 6’s Earth (and its people) as his secret wish. (DBS, ep. 41).
“Future” Trunks/Zamasu
- Zamasu uses the Super Dragon Balls to switch bodies with Goku (creating Goku Black). (DBS, ep. 60–61 explanation on-screen).
- In the alternate future, Future Zamasu uses that timeline’s Super Dragon Balls to become immortal; the orbs are later destroyed. (DBS, ep. 58–61).
Slice-of-life interlude
- Goku tries to use Shenron to resurrect King Kai, sparking a comedic rush of competing wishes (no resurrection occurs). (DBS, ep. 68).
Tournament of Power
- Android 17 wins and wishes for all erased universes to be restored with the Super Dragon Balls. (DBS, ep. 131).
