Piccolo, also known as Piccolo Jr, is the child/incarnation of Goku’s enemy, King Piccolo. When King Piccolo was defeated in battle by Goku, he spit Piccolo Jr as an egg, telling Goku that his son will avenge his death. Piccolo Jr hatched out after several years and trained hard so he can defeat Goku.
His first match with Goku was when Piccolo Jr joined a tournament where he fought with Krillin, Hero (who is Kami in reality), and eventually Goku. Piccolo Jr was so motivated to avenge his father and he ended up damaging significantly Goku’s limbs without showing mercy in doing so. However, Goku still defeated him.
Piccolo spent more time trying to revenge his father but when faced with the Saiyans, her realized that he cannot face them on his own so he teamed up with Goku and the other Z Fighters.
Later on, he trained Gohan, the son of Goku, who Piccolo developed a close relationship with. A relationship that fully changed Piccolo from being a villainous character into one of the most loyal allies of the Z Fighters.
